It's about this.
I am this guy.
This page is intended to serve as a source of information for the Kalilić family of Croatia, as well as their American counterparts, the Kalilich family.
The first Kaliliches in America that I know of were brothers and sister: Jerko (or Jerome), Franjo (or Frank), and Lucija (or Lucy). They traveled from Pučišća, Croatia, to Ellis Island in 1904, 1907, and 1910, respectively, and settled in Cleveland, Ohio.
The big question is: How are the Kalilićs in Croatia today related to the forebears of the American Kalilich family? From the best I can tell based on immigration records, their parents' names were named Antonije and Katarina, or some variants thereof.

Franjo's last residence: "With parents Antonije(?) + Katarina(?) Kalilic - Pucisce Dalmatia"

Lucija's closest contact at home: "Mother Kate Kalilic Pucisce Austria"
(Note that Dalmatian region of Croatia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the time. The Kalilićs' immigration records give their nationality as Austrian and/or Dalmatian.)
The following information on naming conventions of southern Croatia seems to be useful: "The first son was always named after the father's father; the 2nd son after the mother's father; the first daughter after the father's mother; and the 2nd daughter after the mother's mother." (Source) Each of the Kalilić brothers named his first son Anthony and his second son John. Lucija had a daughter named Catherine.
The following family tree is very incomplete and probably contains embarrassing errors. Contributions are welcome. For privacy's sake, I have limited the amount of details for people who are known to be living unless they consent.
It seems that one Darinka Kalilić (born 1901; father: Ante), of Pučišća, Croatia, died in the Jasenovac concentration camp during World War II. I'd be especially interested in information on this.
If you'd like to help out in any way, I would appreciate it. My e-mail address is at the bottom of the page.
